I’ve always wondered if it is worth the time and effort involved in stripping copper wire bare in order to recycle it for money. Recently I noticed Allen Company the recycling center I sometimes go to here in San Diego accepts scrap metal including copper wire. I did some googling and found that copper wire scrap values fluctuate and it just so happens that right now they’re the highest they have ever been. I love a good challenge, and to be honest I was unprepared for exactly how much time and effort it would take to strip that much wire, but I carried on anyways. After spending an hour or so each evening after a little over a week, I had a reusable shopping bag with 18 pounds of bright copper in it.
