This is the first video in a series of gravel bike upgrades to the Retrospec Harper Coaster single speed bike. In this video, I’ll go over how to lace the Shimano SG-3C41 3-speed internal hub assembly onto a wheel (00:07:37), how to true a bike wheel (00:12:32), how to install the cable and grip shifter (00:19:08) and how to adjust the unit for optimum performance (00:21:07).

Thank for helping in finding the Shimano nexus 3 gear hub.
I’m planning to purchase it and install it on my fixie, as I live on hilly area of Syracuse.
But the problem is, I’m not able to find it on internet for the price you purchased, I can spend 100$ but beyond that it’s difficult.
Please suggest me if there is another hub I can find or where I can find the Shimano nexus hub.

Hi Akash, during the pandemic there was definitely a shortage of options as people were buying them up to upgrade their bikes. Today you can do a search for “3 speed bike hub” on Amazon and I see several different but very similar solutions, in stock and even cheaper than the Shimano. Best of luck!
