In this video we’ll digitize old videos using a standalone capture appliance by ClonerAlliance. This little capture device is a great alternative to capturing videos on your computer which can sometimes be humbling for even the most tech-savvy among us. As computer operating systems become more and more secure, they tend to also become less and less compatible with third party hardware and software, especially inexpensive hardware and software. In this episode we’ll explore the ViewLite AV by ClonerAlliance. This handy little device can capture high quality videos, pictures and sound files from most any standard definition audio/video device. Watch as I capture some video from my 90s Sony HandyCam and a VHS tape I found in a used VCR. The device can capture up to 10 Mbps (mega bits per second) and can also up res widescreen SD footage to 1920×1080 HD videos. All of this without a computer. No more having to install any apps or download drivers or call your kid for tech support. The ViewLite AV is a quick and easy way to digitize old tapes and memories straight to a storage device.
